Guns and gadgets (6)
Guns are made at Babyl's Workshop. Ammo refills slowly on its own and quickly when you land melee hits; breakables also refill it. A shot on an enemy winding up an aerial attack drops it to the floor, which is the main reason to keep one bullet in reserve.
| Weapon | Special effect | How to get | Added |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blob Gun | The default gun. Ammo refills slowly over time and much faster when you land melee hits; shots knock flying enemies out of the air. | Babyl's Workshop | Early Access |
| Blo-Blaster | Close-range cannon that gives up reach for heavy damage. | Hidden treasure in Aeolia's Zephyr Fields (zipline maze at the start) | Early Access |
| Blo-Beam | Long-range beam with upgradeable capacity and reload speed. | Babyl's Workshop | Early Access |
| Blo-Blitz | Dual guns firing in tandem: lower damage per shot, much higher cadence, built for stacking hit-based perks. | Quest and crafting recipe, available after visiting the second Gallery floor | Greed & Glory (Mar 2026) |
| Blo-Buddy | A small floating companion that fires whenever you press shoot, so you can attack while doing other actions; ideal for applying Ice or Poison. | Babyl's Workshop | Blob-Life (May 2026) |
| Machine Gun | New craftable gadget announced for the full release. | Version 1.0 | 1.0 (Sep 2026) |
Armor sets
Andrei forges armor as well as weapons. Only the two sets described in patch notes are listed below; the base sets have no published effect text yet and will be added when a reliable source documents them.
| Weapon | Special effect | How to get | Added |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nimbus Regalia | Grants one Shield at the start of each dungeon; when the Shield breaks, damage increases by 20% for 2 seconds. | Quest for the crafting recipe, appears once you reach the second Aeolia floor | Greed & Glory (Mar 2026) |
| Endless Void Armour | Increased base critical hit chance and additional critical damage for every Spark perk equipped. | Version 1.0 (forged by the Golden Guild) | 1.0 (Sep 2026) |
Upgrade tiers
| Tier | Gold | Materials |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 2,000 | 1–4 of the weapon's material |
| Uncommon | 5,000 | 6 of the weapon's material |
| Rare | 20,000 | 8 of the weapon's material |
| Epic | 50,000 | 10 of the weapon's material |
The Legendary tier exists (Sun and Moon Ballad's wiki entry lists five tiers) but its cost was not published in full; the special effect grows with each tier (for example Everlasting Fury goes from +50% to +60% to +75%).
Weapon questions
What is the best weapon in Moonlighter 2?
Two published Early Access tier lists agree on the Aetherium Heart (large sword), Ultimate Spear, Ultimate Short Sword and the Blo-Beam gun as the top picks. The 1.0 Endless aspects have not been ranked by anyone yet. See the weapon tier list for the full consensus with sources.
How do I unlock new weapons?
Most aspects are crafted at Andrei’s Forge once you have the recipe and materials. Three recipes (The Vow, Heartbeat Hunter, Blo-Blaster) are hidden treasures found through Eris’s riddles, four (Starsign Horn, Protocol Breaker, Dreampiercer, Single Strike) are Boss Rush rewards, and the Blo-Blitz and Nimbus Regalia come from quests. Unlocking a weapon type itself only needs an easy material, no gold.
How much does upgrading cost?
The wiki lists 2,000 gold plus materials for the first tier, 5,000 for Uncommon, 20,000 for Rare and 50,000 for Epic, each with a growing count of the weapon’s material (Moon Flowers, Echo Links, Oneiric Stones and so on).
Which weapon should a beginner use?
The Merchant’s Sword: fast, balanced, and the one most creators used for money runs. Swap once you find the Aetherium Heart or an Ultimate aspect. Whatever you pick, use the gun to knock flying enemies down and keep a bullet in reserve.
