How to Find the Perfect Price in Moonlighter 2

The four reactions

When a customer picks up a relic they judge the price you set:

ReactionWhat it meansPerk meter
CheapBelow the Perfect band. Instant sale, less gold; since Blob-Life these sales can drop AromasFills
PerfectThe intended band. Its top value carries the red Perfect StampFills
ExpensiveAbove Perfect but still accepted by ordinary customersDoes not fill
OverpricedRefused. Only wealthy special customers pay above Expensive, with their own limits

The Steam guide that first mapped the bands found a fixed ratio: every Expensive price is divisible by 6, Perfect is 7/8 of Expensive and Cheap is 17/24 of Expensive. For 140 of the 154 relics the published Perfect price fits exactly; our calculator applies the ratio for you.

Where the stamp comes from

The Codex records every band you have discovered for a relic. Once you sell at exactly the top of the Perfect band the stamp appears next to the price, and Market Recon (discover all prices of one relic) is an achievement. Since Patch 1 stamps are hidden for relics you have not found yet, and since Blob-Life the price screen shows which band a number falls into once you know the bands above and below it, with a ”?” when you do not.

Quality changes the payout, not the judgement

Each relic carries a quality score. The price floating over a relic in the shop is your set price multiplied by the quality multiplier; customers react to the price you set. So a relic set at its stamp with x2.10 quality sells for 2.1 times the stamp and still counts as Perfect. Quality comes from backpack effects during the run and from shop perks that raise it; the backpack guide covers the stacking tricks.

Deluxe relics (unlocked through Tomo’s research, marked with a diamond) sell for more than the regular version of the same relic.

Popularity, culture days and furniture

Relics from a dimension you have not sold in a while gain popularity and sell for a little more. The calendar shows culture days (one dimension’s relics are worth more) and rarity days (one rarity is in demand). Showcases and furniture from the Countess add their own bonus to relics placed on them. None of these multipliers are published as numbers, so treat the price table as base values and expect real sales to land above them on a good day.

A selling day that works

  1. Open with cheap Commons at Cheap or Perfect to fill the perk meter and pick perks.
  2. Once a perk like “+20% Legendary prices” or a Boost is active, place your Epics and Legendaries.
  3. Sell at Perfect for the meter, or at Expensive if the meter is already full and you only want gold.
  4. Keep an Epic or Legendary for a culture day or for Zenon, the special customer who pays double.
